Chez Céramique Bistro at 1916 Boulevard Thimens in Saint-Laurent offers a unique blend of dining and creative pursuits, making it more than just a restaurant or art café. It functions as a lifestyle spot where families, couples, and friends can come together to enjoy Lebanese and vegetarian-friendly food while engaging in pottery painting and ceramics-making.

The interior is bright and welcoming, with a cozy atmosphere that balances the casual bistro vibe and an art studio’s creative energy. It’s a place where kids and adults alike spend time painting ceramic mugs or crafting pottery, often extending their visits well beyond just a meal. The staff’s attentiveness contributes strongly to the experience, making visitors feel comfortable and supported whether they’re ordering food or getting help with their artistic projects.

Food here complements the creative setting without overpowering it. While the menu spans Lebanese-inspired dishes and vegetarian options, it’s the quality and approachability of items like falafel sandwiches and crispy chicken sandwiches that local patrons appreciate most. The meals seem thoughtfully designed to satisfy without distracting from the hands-on activities available.

Families find this spot especially appealing, as the bistro integrates dining and arts education seamlessly. Children can explore their artistic sides with pottery painting sessions that double as fun, interactive experiences. Adults benefit from relaxed, friendly service and the chance to participate in pottery-making with guidance—a level of engagement that often encourages repeat visits to finish creative pieces over multiple sessions.

Visits in the late morning through afternoon appear ideal for a calm, leisurely experience, whether dropping in for lunch or settling in for a ceramic painting session. The ability to stay after closing to complete artwork suggests a flexible, community-oriented environment that values customers’ creative process as much as their appetite.

In short, Chez Céramique Bistro suits those looking for more than just a meal: it’s a quiet corner of Saint-Laurent where local culture, food, and hands-on art combine. Whether you come with children wanting a creative outlet or a partner for a casual date involving pottery and flavorful eats, this place offers a comfortable, engaging spot on the boulevard.

Great experience, beautiful and bright place. The menu is delicious and the staff are always close by to help. The falafel sandwich is amazing. Our kids had a great time painting their ceramic mugs. Will be back soon.

Place is very nice and extremely nice staff!! It’s very cozy and accommodating. You can also make your own ceramic if you want to. I also loved that we didn’t have to pay for our stay just the ceramic or the food.

I went to do the ceramic painting with two friends: we LOVED this place! Its a hidden gem! Great prices (food and activities), superb service (such a sweet man, he let us stay 30 minutes after closing time because we did not finish our paintings)… plus, we were pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality of the food! I really loved the crispy chicken sandwich : the chicken is juicy and flavorful. Everything was fresh. Will come back!!!

A family friendly spot in Montreal were kids can explore their inner arts skills. Ceramic Bistro is a wonderful place for families to spend time together working on clay, painting or eating together. The food menu is compatible with the activities available at this place. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable.

My girlfriend and I had our very first date at Chez Ceramic Bistro June 1st 2025, and it will forever hold a special place in my heart. We did pottery together, guided by our teacher, Mr. Darwich, who was so kind and patient with us. I quickly realized pottery is much harder than it looks! Since pottery happens in stages, our first date naturally led us back again to sand our mugs, and soon we’ll return once more to paint them. Each visit has felt like another chapter in our story, and the mugs we’re creating together will always be a symbol of how it all began. Chez Ceramic Bistro isn’t just a place to make pottery, for us, it became the starting point of something truly special. I’ll always be grateful for the memories we’ve made here.

Fun activities in Montreal. Affordable prices. Highly recommend this place. Enjoy with your friends and family. Pottery making :50$ for 3 sessions ceramic painting: buy products starting from 8$ to 50$ . And no studio fees Do visit this place and try amazing falafel there

The cafe and food section is very good. They have a clean kitchen in the front and foods are served fast. The owners are very nice and friendly. The ceramic selection is limited compared to other places but still many choices. It would be nice if there are more paints to share when it is crowded. The birthday party room is separated by dividers, the room can hold 30-35 people. My kids enjoyed the activity here.

I loved my experience at Céramique Bistro! I was looking for a place where you can use the pottery wheel and then paint your creation afterward, since they usually handle the final part for you. The owner is incredibly kind—he taught me how to do it and also gave me the freedom to explore on my own. I’ll definitely return and make more clay pieces!
